New tricks

Kira has learned a few new tricks to get her way, and while they are endearing, it is clear she will soon outsmart her mother and me :) Team parents may outnumber team Kira 2:1, but she is in no way daunted by this.

She has already begun attempting to pit us against each other. If one of us does something she disagrees with, or doesn't want to do, she immediately asks for the other. There is no subtlety in her method. It is clear that the offending parent has just failed to make passing marks, been dropped from future consideration, and the replacement is already late for the job. No one is as demanding as someone who doesn't know that it is indeed possible to not get their way :)

T'was the Sunday before Christmas

Kira and her mom came out to watch the last demo for my school today, and one of my students parents gave bindi, the red forehead dots worn by women in India and other nations. Mom and daughter both wore theirs for most of the day.

We also went to lunch at Jersey Mike's, where Kira stole one of my Jalepeno Chips and got her first taste of SPICY! She got over it pretty quickly, but not before she made some priceless faces :)

We will finish the day by traveling north, over the river and through the woods to Grandmas house for some Omaha steaks for dinner.

Hopefully, I can get Kristin to put up some pics as they were moved to her PC.

Halloween and more

Kira has really gotten into Halloween this year. She has a book about Halloween at Grandma and Grandpa's house from which she has learned sounds made by ghosts, monsters, bats, witches, pumpkins, and skeletons. Kira has dressed up and has either gone trick-or-treating, to a Halloween party, or both each of the last three days. She's pretty much had the time of her life.

Trick-or-treating was fun. Apparently, if you are tiny and cute, people will hold the bowl down for you and let you move candy from their big bowl to your treat bag pretty much indefinitely. We couldn't have hit up more than seven houses, but she has more, better loot than I used to get in two hours of busting my behind to hit the whole neighborhood. Little do those generous folks know that it was all a ruse to get candy for Jared. Kira doesn't eat candy, ha!

Sitting next to her pumpkin, getting ready to go trick-or-treating for the first time in her life. We intended to put a face on the pumpkin, but Kira kept putting the face parts on the pumpkin, so we kept hammering them in place for her.

And now, on to the "and more" portion of this blog post...

The dance moves, I mean! I think I counted four...
